William Santillo

erotica
William Santillo: Exploring the alchemy of singles, couples and groups in the intimate moments of sexual encounters. Unscripted, undirected and unrehearsed, these encounters are documented with the subtlety of a hidden voyeur and rendered through the unashamed eye of the artist with distinctive use of light and motion that heightens the sense of their secret passionate intimacy.

Virtual Pose Studio

Are you an artist in need of superb models for reference? Are you on a tight budget, or unable to find them? Then you need VIRTUAL POSE®!

Due to popular demand, we are now offering Virtual Pose® in high resolution QTVR poses you can purchase and download directly online, or purchase on an autographed CD-ROM.

Pose
Each pose is part of a growing and acclaimed series dedicated to presenting the human form in a way that allows a deeper understanding of shape, form, and gesture. It is the next best thing to working with a live model because the artist can rotate it 360 degrees around the axis, and has the ability to zoom in on the pose. Furthermore, there is the choice of male and female models to draw from, making this series an invaluable tool in every artist’s reference library.

Virtual Pose : The Ultimate Visual Reference Series for Drawing the Human Figure (contains a CD-ROM) by Mario Henri Chakkour, Welton Doby (Photographer), Gregory Scott Wills, John Fisher (Photographer)

Virtual Pose 3 by Mario Henri Chakkour, Missy Loewe (Photographer)

Features more models in a significantly higher number of poses (54 poses, 1,944 views in all)

Virtual Pose 2 is the second installment in what is fast becoming the ultimate visual reference series for drawing the human figure. For professional and student artists, this series is the next best thing to working with a live model–and the ultimate for amateur artists who have no access to studio sessions.

Pose
Each volume includes an interactive CD-ROM with 54 full-figure poses which the artist can rotate 360 degrees. The artist is also able to zoom in on the pose, thus presenting the human form in a way that allows a deeper understanding of shape, form and gesture. Ranging from action to classic poses, standing and reclining, these carefully selected subjects were designed to offer visually pleasing as well as challenging drawing subjects.

Furthermore, there is the choice of male and female models to draw from, music for inspiration, and four drawing tutorial movies, making Virtual Pose 2 an invaluable tool for every artist’s reference.

About the Author

An internationally established digital artist, Mario Henri Chakkour is an expert in the use of computers in art. He is author of the book/CD-ROM sets Painting with Computers, and Virtual Pose 1. He is also a partner at Imaging Zone, a leading Washington, DC digital imaging, prepress and printing corporation.

From Library Journal

For artists looking for an anatomically correct resource and don’t have access to a live model, this set will be invaluable. Similar in spirit to Eadweard Muybridge’s 19th-century classic The Human Figure in Motion, the work by digital artist Chakkour features both male and female poses sans clothing. The brief book essentially functions as the visual table of contents for images that are on the enclosed CD-ROM. The obvious way an artist will use this resource is to select a pose, import the image into a program such as Photoshop, and then “paint” the clothes on or trace over the image to create a new anatomically correct form.

Some thoughts on Erotica and Pornography

Here is a quote from, The Alchemy of Love and Lust by Theresa L. Crenshaw, M.D., pp. 55-62. Perhaps if we understood what was going on inside people, for example with chemicals, hormones and pheromones, we could better understand their behavior and attitudes.

“PEA” (phenylethylamine) is known as the ‘molecule of love.’ PEA is a natural form of amphetamine that… occurs naturally in our systems and fluctuates according to our thoughts, feelings, and experiences, especially romance.

PEA could be the visual component of the chemistry of love at first sight. It’s the look across the room that mesmerizes you and casts you under its spell… We do know the response causes a circulatory surge of PEA. We also know how it feels, the thrill when it happens.

Could love at first sight boil down to this chain reaction? Together with pheromones – the scent that draws you close – PEA completes the picture and triggers ‘that magic moment.’

Looking at ‘the right stuff’ somehow manages to trigger PEA, whether it’s a person, a picture, art, or something you read… Since men are much more renowned for being visually stimulated sexually, I suspect that men have a stronger PEA response than women… But reading romance novels and fantasizing can also stir up your PEA, while stimulating testosterone and/or estrogen…

One way of raising your PEA levels may be to read romance novels. This is not just entertainment. They’re a cheap PEA ride primarily for women – a quick fix. Indeed, they are not just a read, but a physiological thrill, a borrowed romance…

Romantic movies, X-rated films, TV shows, and even music may trigger the same response. Pornography, erotic art, and topless dancing also stimulate this chemistry, albeit more often in men.

Many women actually object to men’s enjoyment of such explicit sexual material. Yet they would be appalled if anyone suggested that romance novels be banned. (Regardless, Danielle Steele is basically a woman’s Playboy.)…

Whichever your preference – explicit pictures or seductive words – reading or viewing can set your molecules in motion…

A second way to raise your PEA levels is to revive a romantic memory and savor it until you recreate the experience and feel the rush… Men… even though it comes more easily for them, their fantasies are different in nature from a woman’s – much more genital and sexually specific. (When they read, they want genital details – action – not feelings and romance.) No plot necessary. The images that arouse them are often considered gross and disgusting by women – nameless, faceless, genital visions – yet they stir their PEA.”
