Dinner is a magnificent 4-course gourmet feast with International Executive Chef Ronnie Coppens. You'll have at least 12 gourmet entrees and a nightly special from which to choose.

 

Your sensual dinner starts with a choice of appetizers, plus a choice between a soup and various fresh salads, and finishes with a choice of decadent desserts. Or, select from multiple Vegan, Vegetarian and Heart Smart dishes available on your request. See a sample menu.

 

The resort has an excellent wine cellar. Wine stewards will help you pair the best wine for your meal. Note: alcoholic beverages are not included in the retreat fee.

 

Breakfast is an equally sumptuous affair. And, on Sunday morning you'll be served a satisfying feast in your private room! Choose from hearty fare like Belgian Malt Waffles with maple syrup, or all-dressed omelettes, or go light with fresh fruits and yogurt. It's all delicious.

As you explore your room, you'll discover that every need has been anticipated... candles for romantic lighting, a refrigerator for your own refreshments, coffee and tea maker with all the coffee, tea and hot chocolate supplied, a 50" Plasma HD television, fine linens and duvet on the king-sized bed, and comfy terry velour bathrobes.

The two bathrooms, with their heated marble floors, offer privacy and luxury. One contains toilet and bidet. The other, a make-up vanity and a double sink credenza plus a double walk-in shower. You'll notice the little touches that make all the difference—like spacious closets with lots of hangers, an ironing board and iron, a lighted make-up mirror, and highest quaility shampoos and soaps.

We've traveled to many places in our search for perfect lovers' getaways—and now we've found one right in our own backyard. Our visit to the Couples Resort was during a wintry weekend in March. It was so much more than we had imagined. We can't wait to return again and again.

 

We love these magnificent rooms. The photos don’t do them justice. They are spacious (almost double the size of most ordinary hotel rooms) and extremely generous in the furnishing and facilities provided. Each room has a steam-sauna double shower, a separate ensuite Jacuzzi, and a private balcony (overlooking the river) with hot tub. Where else can you find a room with a steam-sauna, Jacuzzi and a hot tub? Amazing!

Construction materials are natural wood, stone, and marble. The marble floor in the makeup area is heated and so is the balcony floor—fabulous if you are using the outside hot tub in the winter! The furniture is lover friendly, encouraging you to explore the room’s many nooks and crannies suitable for lovemaking. One night isn’t enough time to discover all of them.

 

The king bed faces a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, with an endless supply of dry hardwood to burn. The art decorating the walls is excellent—some of it quite sensual and sexy. The toilet and bidet are separated from the makeup and shower area.

The separate sitting area is large with deep padded upholstered furniture, lots of large loose cushions, and a huge 50’ plasma HD flat screen television mounted on the wall. You can watch DVD movies or listen to stereo music.

 

With five star dinner served in the dining room overlooking the river, and breakfast served in your room, all included in one price, this is not only a romantic luxury getaway, it’s a bargain to boot.
